Reading in a local newspaper this morning about a woman who has received compensation after a road accident. Her car was hit by another, driven by a man who had had an eplieptic seizure at the wheel. There wasn’t much damage to her car & she was treated only for minor injuries. She has since aparently developed a phobia of driving.
The bit that worries me is that approx. £2500 (can’t remember the exact amount – didn’t bring the paper home) of her compensation was awarded because she was upset by the facial expressions on the man having the seizure!! She’s claiming post traumatic stress disorder.
Isn’t this just a bit like something out of Ally McBeal?? Has litigation culture finally gone mad??
I didn’t find the right solution from the Internet
